Profitual × Brand Butter

You know your runway.
Now let's build your pipeline. momentum. trust. launch. next move.

Profitual gives business owners clarity on their numbers. This proposal gives Profitual clarity on its growth: a focused, measurable marketing engine built around your September 15 launch, your push beyond startups into the broader world of business owners and their advisors, and one non-negotiable rule we heard loud and clear on our call: prove the ROI before scaling the spend.

01 · What we heard

A strong company with a quiet megaphone.

Ray, here's our read of Thursday's conversation. Profitual's fundamentals are enviable. What's missing isn't product, cash, or conviction. It's a marketing system that converts attention into ARR.

“We've tried webinars, LinkedIn, newsletter ads… nothing really stuck.”

The channels weren't wrong. They were disconnected. Signups arrived with nowhere structured to go, so interest evaporated before it became revenue.

“Startups love us, but they don't have the budget.”

Your instinct to widen beyond startups is right. The market is every business that wants to be intimate with its numbers, from owner-led SMEs to the accountants and bookkeepers who advise them, and it needs messaging built for buyers with revenue to protect.

“Selling software is about trust. People need to be educated first.”

This is the thesis of our whole plan. Education isn't a marketing tactic for Profitual. It's the product's front door, and we intend to build the whole engine around it.

02 · The diagnosis

It was never a channel problem.
It's a system problem.

Cold outreach at $4k a month, webinars, promotions: each was a solo act with no supporting cast. Here's what was actually breaking, and why it's very fixable.

Finding No. 1

Leaks, not droughts

Webinars pulled real signups. Then nothing followed them: no nurture, no structured path from curious to customer. The top of your funnel worked; the middle didn't exist.

Finding No. 2

Aimed at empty wallets

The early startup ICP meant winning buyers who couldn't afford to stay. Established owner-led businesses have the problem and the budget, and the accounting firms and bookkeepers who serve hundreds of them multiply every win.

Finding No. 3

Spend without a scoreboard

You paid for activity, not evidence. Without attribution and reporting, every dollar felt like a gamble, so scaling spend never felt justified. We fix the scoreboard first.

03 · The plan

Five moves. One compounding engine.

Each pillar feeds the next: sharper targeting makes the launch land, the launch feeds the trust engine, trust fills the pipeline, and the scoreboard proves it all deserves more fuel.

Pillar 01 · in The Spread & The Churn

ICP & Positioning Sprint

A two-week sprint to define who Profitual serves next, in tiers rather than a blur: primary, owner-led businesses with real revenue that want to be intimate with their numbers; secondary, accounting firms and bookkeepers, who are both customers and a distribution channel, since one firm advises dozens of businesses. We rebuild messaging around their language (runway, cash confidence, decisions) so every later tactic has a clear target.

The September 15 Launch Campaign

Your v2 is the best marketing moment Profitual has had. We build the launch narrative and creative around it: positioning the release, packaging your feature videos, promoting Ray's webinar series, and riding the back-to-school momentum you chose that date for.

The Trust Engine

You said it yourself: software is sold on trust, and trust is built through education. We turn your existing customers into proof (testimonials, mini case studies) and your expertise into an always-on education layer that warms buyers before sales ever says hello. It also hands you credibility assets for conversations with partners like Mastercard and Visa.

Conversion & the Advisor Channel

We're not rebuying cold outreach; the market already graded that experiment. Webinars stay your attraction engine, and we repair what happens after the signup: nurture sequences, webinar-to-trial paths, and proof placed at the decision point. The outbound muscle goes only where the math works: high-touch partnership development with a shortlist of accounting and bookkeeping firms, where one yes means dozens of customers.

The Prove-It Scoreboard

A monthly ROI report a CFO would respect (fitting, given your product): pipeline created, cost per qualified lead, webinar-to-trial conversion, and what we're doubling down on or killing. You said spend scales only when the numbers earn it. We're building the instrument that decides.

04 · The runway

Nineteen days to launch.
Here's the flight plan.

Wed · Sept 2

Proposal debrief

We reconvene (as discussed, once Matt is back Wednesday), walk through this plan, answer everything, and lock scope.

Thu · Sept 3

Kickoff & ICP sprint

Immediate start on positioning and the owner-and-advisor messaging matrix while your team finishes feature videos and testimonial gathering.

Week of Sept 8

Launch assets locked

Campaign creative, webinar promotion, email sequences and landing assets finalized, staged, and rehearsed.

Mon · Sept 15 Launch day

Profitual v2 goes live

Coordinated push across webinars, email, social and advisor partners, with the education layer catching everyone who isn't ready to buy on day one.

Mid-October

30-day scoreboard

First full ROI report: what the launch produced, what each channel cost, what earned more budget.

Nov → Dec

Scale what works

60- and 90-day reviews. Winning channels get more fuel; losers get cut without sentiment. Spend follows evidence, exactly as you asked.

05 · The investment

Priced for proof, built to scale.

The five pillars map straight onto the pricing: the monthly plans carry the engine (Pillars 01, 03, 04, 05), and the September 15 launch (Pillar 02) is its own one-time sprint. All figures CAD; monthly plans on a three-month initial term, month-to-month after.

The numbers are under the lid.

No second password, no games. One click and the butter melts.

Numbers negotiable in structure, never in accountability. Every plan includes the Prove-It Scoreboard, because you shouldn't have to take our word for anything.

06 · Why Brand Butter

Strategy first. Everything else follows.

We've done the homework

This proposal was built from your numbers, your channels, your ICP shift, and your launch date. Expect the same specificity every month, not templates with your logo pasted on.

Senior hands, no telephone game

You talk to the people doing the work. Decisions happen in days, not sprints-about-sprints. For a 19-day launch runway, that speed is the whole ballgame.

Aligned with your caution

You want ROI proven before spend scales. So do we: our best clients are the ones who grew because the scoreboard said so. We win when the numbers win.

07 · Next steps

Three steps to September 15.

1

Sit with it

Share this with the team. Poke holes. Write down every hard question; we'd rather earn the yes than charm it.

2

Wednesday, Sept 2

We meet, walk the plan end to end, and adjust scope until it fits. Bring the testimonials you're gathering; they slot straight into Pillar 03.

3

Kickoff Sept 3

Papers signed, sprint starts same week. Twelve working days later, v2 launches with an actual engine behind it.

Let's make the launch unmissable.

Ray, you've built a product that tells business owners the truth about their future. Let us build the machine that tells the market about Profitual.
